Why We Built This Site
Kentucky gives the public access to many court and county records, but the route depends on the record. Shelby County Circuit Court handles felony, higher-value civil, divorce, Family Court, contested probate, and appeals from District Court. District Court handles misdemeanors, traffic, probate of wills, small claims, juvenile, mental-health, and preliminary felony proceedings. The Shelby County Circuit Court Clerk, Wendy B. Graney, is the local court-record starting point at the Shelby County Judicial Center, while the Shelby County Clerk handles marriage licenses, legal records, elections, and other county-clerk functions.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
